Having come from the family of Lauraceae genus Cinnamomum, cinnamon is a mid-brown color seasoning gotten from the inner bark of several tree species.

Powdered cinnamon contains: Water (11%), carbohydrate (81%), dietary fibre (53%), protein 4% and fat (1%).

Cinnamon can be used as a seasoning in a variety of dishes, snacks, cereal, toast, teas etc.
